— Clifton Eugene Morgan, age 86, died Tuesday, July 22, 2008.
Services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday at Mt. Hope Methodist Church with the Rev. Alan McCoy officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
Mr. Morgan was a native and resident of Hancock County. He was retired from Edwards Lumber Company and was an Army veteran of World War II. He was preceded in death by his wife, Sara and grandson, Don. Mr. Morgan was a member of the Mt. Hope Methodist Church.
Survivors include his sons, Donnie Morgan and wife Vickie, Terry Morgan and wife Brenda, Bruce Morgan and wife Theresa, all of Sparta; sister, Grace Strickland of Greensboro; four grandchildren, Brian Morgan of Woodstock, Amanda Morgan Ellis of High Springs, Fla., Kimberly Morgan of High Falls and Jonathan Morgan of Fort Bragg, N.C.; five great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to Mt. Hope Methodist Church Cemetery Fund.
The family will receive friends Wednesday from 6 until 8 p.m. at Moores Funeral Home.
