Mr. Julius L. Simmons, 66, of 1545 Warren Chapel Road, Sparta, died June 28, 2009, at his Sparta residence.

He leaves to cherish his memories three daughters, Brenda Jackson of Viera, Fla., Barbara Harper Barksdale and Gladys Harper Jones of Sparta; three brothers, Willie Simmons of Rivera Beach, Fla., Fate Simmons of Sparta, and Henry Simmons of Hawaii; three sisters, Bretha Devero of Linden, N.J., Ethel Warren of Sparta, and Lora Berry of Anchorage, Alaska.

Services will be held Thursday, July 2, 2009, at 11 a.m. at Powell Grove Baptist Church with burial in the church cemetery. The Rev. William L. Welch, pastor, will officiate.

Ingram Brothers Funeral Home Inc., 249 Spring St., Sparta, has charge of arrangements.
