Funeral services for Mrs. Bertha “Mack” Williams, 82, of Cochran, who died at her residence July 1, 2009, will be held at 7 p.m. Friday, July 3, 2009, in the Chapel of Fisher Funeral Home. A private burial will follow in Cedar Hill Cemetery.
Mrs. Williams was the daughter of the late Eulie and Clardell Price McCray. She was the widow of Lewis C. Williams. She moved to Cochran in 1945. She was a graduate of Claxton Hospital LPN School, worked as a nurse for Dr. Buddy Smith for 37 years, was a member of Southside Baptist Church and was a former Sunday School teacher.
She was preceded in death by her sister, Virginia McCray Beasly.
Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, Carlton (Duke) and Sue Williams of Cochran; daughters, Debbie Collins of Cochran; grandchildren, Laura (Jim) Mullis of Cochran, Brent (Amy) DuBois of Danville, Chris (Nikki) DuBois of Cochran; eight great-grandchildren; and sister, Lois Dowd of Macon.
In lieu of flowers, those desiring may make donations to Hospice of Laurens County Inc. 205 N. Franklin St., Dublin, GA 31021. The family may be contacted at the Williams’ residence, 470 Hawkinsville Highway, Cochran, and will greet friends at the funeral home following the service.
Fisher Funeral Home has charge of arrangements.
