— Col. Daniel Elba January (Ret.) passed away Sunday, May 18, 2008, at his home, with his wife Myrna and stepson Kenneth by his side.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at Georgia Veterans Memorial Cemetery.
Col. January was born Jan. 9, 1925, in Rolla, Kan. He was a graduate of Albion College and a highly decorated veteran of the U.S. Air Force, where he served proudly for 33 years.
Survivors include his wife, Myrna M. January of Eatonton; two daughters, Sherri Lynn January of California and Michelle Cook of Chicago, Ill.; stepson, Kenneth Gunkel; granddaughter, Kaytee Allen of Eatonton; great-grandchildren, Benjamin and Claire Allen.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be directed to Habitat for Humanity of Milledgeville/Baldwin County.
The family will receive friends from 9:30 until 10:30 a.m. Friday at Moores Funeral Home.
