— Oscar B. Lewis of 2858 Hitchcock Cemetery Road, died Saturday, May 17, 2008, in an Atlanta hospital.
Services will be at noon Thursday from the Griffin Memorial Chapel at Slater’s Funeral Home with the Rev. Elijah Barnes officiating. Burial will follow in Hickory Cemetery.
Survivors include his wife, Emma Lucille Hall-Lewis of Sparta; five sons, Larry B. Lewis, Arthur Lee Lewis, and Oscar Lewis Jr., all of Sparta, Robert Hall of Milledgeville, Jimmy L. Hall of Fort Valley; daughter, Helen L. Hall; five sisters, Rosa Lewis and Emma Lewis Phillips of Philadelphia, Pa., Eunice Dixon and Nina Stanton Fluellen of Sparta and Annie C. Barnes of Milledgeville; two brothers, Frank Lewis Sr. and Columbia Lewis, both of Sparta; grandchildren; great-grandchildren; and a host of other relatives.
Friends may visit the family at the residence.
Slater’s Funeral Home Inc. has charge of arrangements.
