— Marie Patterson Miller Hill, age 73, of Bowen Hill Road, died Friday, May 9, 2008.
A memorial service will be held at 6 p.m. Tuesday in the chapel of Bridges Funeral Home in Gray. A second memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday in the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses in Gray.
Mrs. Hill, the daughter of the late Ernest Miller and Magnolia Sims Miller, was born on Feb. 15, 1935, in Jones County and was a lifelong resident. She worked in the Housekeeping Department at Central State Hospital and was a member of the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses in Gray. Mrs. Hill was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Hill Sr.
Survivors include her daughters, Betty Gardner, Pandora Jimerson and Tericeta Smith, all of Milledgeville and Mona Balcom of Columbus; sons, Joseph Hill Jr. of Deveraux, Marcus Hill of Milledgeville, Tony Hill of Warner Robins and Tyrone Hill of Haddock; two sisters, Pheobe Hicks of Philadelphia, Pa., and Laconia James of Milledgeville; devoted niece, Barbara Garris of Haddock; 24 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; a host of nieces and nephews.
