Alma Snyder Smallwood, age 81, passed away Sunday, May 4, 2008.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, May 7, 2008, at Gordon First Baptist Church with the Reverends Chuck Fightmaster, Maxie Threatt, Michael Morgan and Mark Grinsted officiating. Interment will follow in Ramah Cemetery.
Mrs. Smallwood was the daughter of the late Cleveland and Annie Osborne Snyder. She was a native of Washington County but had lived in Gordon most of her adult life. Mrs. Smallwood had been employed by McGaw Laboratories, was a homemaker and a member of the Gordon First Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Coleman L. Smallwood.
Survivors include her daughter, Janice (Rev. Chuck) Fightmaster, of Springhill, Fla.; sons, David (Wanda) Smallwood of Toomsboro and Tommy (Ellen) Smallwood of Gordon; sisters, Ruth Roberson of Gordon, Lois Payne and Ruby Crowe, both of Milledgeville; special friend, Anita Elton; nine grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; six great-great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 p.m. Tuesday evening at White Columns Funeral Home.
