Three teenagers went on a destructive cruise down North Columbia Street late Sunday night, shooting out windows with slingshots and ball bearings.

David Michael Francis, 18, of Penny Lane; David William Brown, 19, of Nelson Road; and William David Hernandez, 17, of Pineaway Drive, are each charged with five counts of second-degree felony criminal damage to property at five area businesses.

Some of the damage was more than $500, said Milledgeville Police Chief Woodrow Blue.

The three young men reportedly rode around in a 2000 Volvo S80 shooting at the windows of businesses with a sling shot, a police report states.

The Mill-edgeville Police Department responded to four calls in the city, Blue said, beginning at about 9 p.m.

The first call came in about a side door at the JC Penny at Milledgeville Mall on North Columbia Street. Police found broken glass in a side door and two windows, a police report states.

Fishing weights and ball bearings were found around the outside of the store, the report states.

Officers also found paint balls and splattered paint balls, a police report states.
