Putnam County commissioners are considering a new proposed route for a controversial road connecting Bluegill with Twin Bridges road in the rural southwest part of the county bordering Lake Sinclair.

The route, proposed by the Hemenway family who’ve opposed the county’s original route, calls for a more north-easterly path that maintains the integrity of their property and access to the lake.

What does it take to change the mind of Putnam County Commission? About $20,000.

Catherine Siewick, daughter of land-owner Elizabeth Hemenway, hired experts to help her family devise an alternate route that would be agreeable for everyone.
