MILLEDGEVILLE — The John Milledge Academy baseball team earned its fifth consecutive victory Tuesday afternoon with a 6-0 home shutout of Augusta Prep.

A four-run explosion in the second inning vaulted the Trojans to a region win. JMA has a flawless league record to date.

Seniors Trent Thiel, Tommy Pittman and Chad Charping made an impact.

Thiel contributed a single in the fifth inning, while Pittman scored on double by Charping in the fourth.

Charping led JMA posting three RBI. Freshman Andrew Prestwood and Pittman added an RBI a piece.

Junior Ben Bracewell was confident on the mound Tuesday.

He allowed no earned runs over five innings of work. Bracewell gave up five hits, while walking three and striking out two.

Classmate Cody Miller conserved the Augusta Prep shutout in the final two innings.

Seniors Kendall Morgan, Hunter Harding, Pittman and Miller added stolen bases in the win as well.

JMA head coach Justin Mills said sophomore Chandler Bryant played well on defense throwing out three Augusta Prep runners.

The Trojans carry an unblemished 3-0 region record to Bulloch Academy Friday with the first pitch at 4:30 p.m.
