GMC Prep’s girls began in a similar fashion in their matchup, as they played the opening five minutes aggressively, but were immediately thrown off their rhythm when the Lady Vikings took control, ultimately leading to a 9-0 loss for the home team.
“Basically, it was a lesson learned for our girls, and that’s what I told them,” Brown said. “We want to emulate them.
“I hope they watched and took notice of a lot of things,” she added.
While the Lady Bulldogs were unable to fire off any shots in Tuesday’s game, the team’s goalkeeper, Becky Vaughn, deflected many FPD shots on goal, despite the high score.
“I know Becky had an incredible number of stops,” Brown said. “She took the brunt for the team.”
With the loss the girls now move to 3-5 on the season. Both squads look to make a statement on Friday when they travel to Eatonton to take on Putnam County.
