UR ATHLETE OF THE WEEK: Chambers leads Lady Trojan soccer

(Continued)

MILLEDGEVILLE —

Leading the team not only in goals scored this season, Chambers also provides leadership in other areas on and off the field.

“She’s always positive, she’s a team player and she has good character on and off the field—she leads by example,” Gallagher said. “The girls can really count on her, when she gets the ball she’s never going to stop.”

In light of a tough season, Chambers’ positive attitude has rubbed off on the rest of the girls.

“It’s great,” Gallagher said. “The thing with the season, we have made it enjoyable and they’ve stayed positive.”

With the season winding down, Gallagher believes her junior forward has more room to improve, but admits Chambers already works tirelessly to get better.

“I’m very proud of her and she’s still improving,” Gallagher said. “She’s just a workhorse.”

Chambers winning Athlete of the Week honors has shown the character and the fight the Lady Trojans have this season, as Gallagher admits they gave great effort.

“Kelsey, getting athlete of the week is just great,” she said. “It shows our character and even though the results aren’t there, they’re working hard every day.”
