MILLEDGEVILLE — The Baldwin County 10U All-Stars will travel to Petal, Miss. later this week to represent Georgia in the Dixie Youth World Series. Opening ceremonies are slated for Friday with games beginning Saturday. The Baldwin team will face the Florida state champions in its opening game at 10 a.m. in the double elimination tournament. The team is competing in the Angels Division and will play as the home team in its opening game. The winner will play at noon Sunday. The losing team will play at 9 a.m. Sunday. Thirteen states are represented in this year’s tournament. The Baldwin team earned a chance to compete by capturing the state title earlier this month in front of hometown fans at Walter B. Williams fields. Representing the county well, the 10 and under girls outscored their opponents 59-9 to win the tournament handily
