MILLEDGEVILLE — The annual J.T. Wall Trojan Football Golf Tournament assists the growth of a fast improving GISA program. Fundraising is important at any football level, and the main money raiser the last four years has been the annual 3-man golf outing.

This year’s fifth edition on Friday, June 28 looks to be no different.

“It supplements our football budget every year for travel, field maintenance and equipment,” JMA head football coach J.T. Wall said.

Wall is thankful for all the community members donating their time and money to the Trojan program.

All proceeds of the 3-man scramble event go toward operations each season.

Last year money bought new helmets and pads, new lockers and a middle school locker room. Technology upgrades to the film room were a byproduct of golf funds also.

Cost per player is $150 or $450 per 3-man team. The fifth annual J.T. Wall Trojan Football Golf Tournament happens at the Milledgeville Country Club.

The tournament is first come, first serve with a 36-team maximum. Teams have gotten turned down in the past because of the large turnout.

Play begins at 10 a.m. Mulligans are available for purchase prior to tee off.

There are cash prizes for all flight winners, door prizes and dinner served after the round. Hole sponsorships at $150 and door prize donations are still available.

Several past University of Georgia football notables and personalities are scheduled to attend including David Greene and Burt Jones.

The golf event serves as the kickoff for the season each summer. Community supporters get a fall preview, as the team attends the fundraiser.
