Soccer enthusiasts gathered Saturday to cut the ribbon on Baldwin County’s latest crown jewel: a five-field soccer and track complex off Highway 212.
Baldwin County Parks & Recreation Director Bill McNair was on hand for the day’s festivities.
“It was great. We had a good turnout and good representation from the city and county. Even the Chamber of Commerce was there for a ribbon cutting, McNair said.
“We were really overjoyed at the response from the community and we played two games there before the weather even became an issue.”
Milledgeville-Baldwin County Chamber of Commerce President Tara Peters also joined for the opening.
“Everyone seemed to enjoy themselves and it’s just a great project for the community,” she said.
