The Baldwin High School Navy Braves JROTC hosted a drill competition over the weekend. Drill teams from many different high schools from Georgia and one from Alabama represented various branches of the United States military. Among the represented branches were the Air Force, Navy and Army.
The Navy Braves were not eligible to win awards since they were the host of the drill competition, but still did very well in the many different events.
The competitions that were carried out at the BHS JROTC drill meet consisted of an eight-man 100 yard relay, crab crawl, color guard display, armed basic drill, unarmed exhibition, armed exhibition, a rifle contest and a physical fitness section that tested the cadets in push-ups and sit-ups.
Upson-Lee won first place overall, with Central High School of Phenix City, Ala., in second and Warner Robins High School in third.
