With his family’s military background, he plans to use the discipline and skills learned through the GMC JROTC program to attend Georgia Tech or the United States Military Academy and major in mechanical or civil engineering in hopes to receive a commission in the United States Army.

The local STAR program is slated at noon Thursday at the Milledgeville Country Club as a joint meeting of the Milledgeville Rotary and Kiwanis clubs. Through the Chamber’s Keystone Investor Program, GMC will be the presenting sponsor of the award ceremony, and GMC President Maj. Gen. Peter Boylan will issue a challenge to the young scholars and their inspiring teachers.

The PAGE Foundation received 514 nominations from public and private high schools across the state. After STAR students and teachers are announced in local communities throughout the state, Georgia’s 2013 State PAGE STAR student and teacher will be named at the annual banquet Monday, April 29 in Atlanta.
