MILLEDGEVILLE — Blandy Hills Elementary School raised $505 through donations as they jumped rope for the American Heart Association.

Physical education coach Audrey Stanton awarded the top five students that raised the most with a Jump Rope For Heart medal, including Chasity Scales, Elaina Jett, Ja’Lyn Thorpe, Tamia James and Halie Golden.

Fifth-grade teacher Sherkeyla Reaves’ class earned a popcorn party for collecting the most funds while third-grade teacher Kim Pearson’s class enjoyed 30-minutes of free play for bringing in the most permission slips.

Jump Rope For Heart is a national fundraising program sponsored by the American Heart Association and American Alliance for Healthy, Physical Education, Recreation and Dance.
