MILLEDGEVILLE — With generous donations from teachers, parents, students and alumni, Baldwin High School’s fine arts program is able to showcase an even more professional sound using a new baby grand piano purchased through the Leave A Legacy campaign’s fundraising efforts.
The fundraising campaign allows individuals to purchase an engraved personalized plate in honor of or in memory of for $150 to be placed on a seat’s armrest of their choice in the auditorium. The 1.5 by 3 inch silver plates have an emblem of the Leave a Legacy logo, the name of the person who purchased the plaque followed by the name of the person in dedication to. With 900 seats available, nearly 35 seats have been sold as of Thursday.
The 6-foot black satin Kawai baby grand piano, expected to arrive at the school today, comes from a church in Tennessee.
Kicking off during the Fine Arts Center’s first staged production with Beauty and the Beast in May 2010, the Leave A Legacy campaign will continue to help enhance the high school’s program in order to benefit students and the community.
