Georgia College Great Pantry Clean Out next week

MILLEDGEVILLE —

The GIVE Center at Georgia College will host its Great Pantry Clean Out next week to encourage students and others to clean out their pantry to help those in need this holiday season.

Georgia College Great Pantry Clean Out will take place from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on GC’s Front Campus Tuesday.

“The goal of Georgia College Great Pantry Clean Out is to connect the Georgia College campus to the needs of the community,” said Michele McGuire, senior mass communication major. “We hope to encourage students to donate what is left in their pantry during finals week to those in need this holiday season.”

All food will be donated to Chard Wray Food Pantry, a local food pantry in Milledgeville, as they meet the increased demands of the upcoming holiday.

“We never turn anyone away,” said George Sargent, Director of Chard Wray. Sargent mentioned that Chard Wray sees the most traffic in the November and December months.

Chard Wray needs as much assistance as possible in stocking the shelves to prepare for the upcoming holiday season.

Donations can be dropped by The GIVE Center at Georgia College at any time leading up to the event.
