MILLEDGEVILLE —

The Milledgeville Singers Guild (MSG) is presenting its annual holiday concert featuring a group of 25 vocalists from the community prepared to share in the Christmas spirit.

Scheduled at 7:30 p.m. Monday, Dec. 10 at First United Methodist Church on Log Cabin Road, the Christmas concert is free and open to the public, though donations will be accepted. Works will be performed by composers of various eras, including Ives, Rutter, Holst, Thompson and Praetorius.

First United Methodist Music and Arts Minister Christopher Rosborough is taking on the duties as director of the singers guild this year, preparing members for annual concerts and events throughout the year.

The community singing group is also slated to perform at the Christmas concert on Georgia Military College’s Grant Parade Tuesday, Dec. 4, and the Old Governor’s Mansion Saturday, Dec. 15.

The Milledgeville Singers Guild was established in 2001 by Caroline Carson in an effort to bring larger choral works to the central Georgia area and to promote a sense of community among musicians in Milledgeville. The group has increased its visibility and has become known for high quality performances as well as outstanding choral literature.
