MILLEDGEVILLE — The American Red Cross hosted a blood drive in its blood mobile at Starbucks Friday afternoon with a goal of collecting 22 units.

"So far we had about six donors,’ American Red Cross Supervisor Jennie Davis said late Friday afternoon. "Everyone is out shopping for the holidays so we’re slow. The need for blood is constant, and everyone should support the cause because it’s really important."

The Milledgeville Mall is slated to host a blood drive from noon to 5 p.m. Saturday behind the mall at the JCPenney entrance.

The Grove Apartments, located at 500 Franklin St., is also slated to host a blood drive from 1 to 5 p.m. Monday. The Oconee Regional Medical Center will host its blood drive from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tuesday.
