The Baldwin County Board of Education signed off on a resolution Thursday adopting a millage rate of 17.06 mills for fiscal year 2014, keeping the millage rate the same from last year.

The school board adopted the 17.06 mills for FY13, a near 1-mill increase that broke the school board’s six-year run of having a stable millage rate of 16.07 mills.

Also during Thursday’s called meeting, the school board approved personnel recommendations and a sole source purchase from MERRITT Professional Carpet Cleaning and Restoration for cleaning services provided to schools and air quality tests in the amount of $43,226.

The school board is slated to convene for its regularly scheduled meeting at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 10 at the board office.
