MILLEDGEVILLE — A two-vehicle crash on the U.S. Highway 441 Bypass heading into Milledgeville miraculously ended with no major injuries to either driver Wednesday morning.

According to TFC Jim Lewis with the Georgia State Patrol, the accident involving an 18-wheeler and a parked construction truck occurred around 8:50 a.m. Lewis wasn't sure why the truck was parked at the location.

The 18-wheeler's driver fell asleep at the wheel leaving that individual at fault in the incident. The construction vehicle had significant damage though the big rig took the worse of it.

The 18-wheeler flipped with the cab coming completely off. Lewis said minor cuts was the worse either male driver sustained though both went to the hospital for checkups.

Georgia Department of Transportation officials expected a two-hour cleanup Wednesday.

Baldwin County Fire Rescue and Sheriff's department also responded to the scene until Old Capitol Wrecker Service went to work.
