MILLEDGEVILLE — The parents of a 2-month-old who died in September 2013 at a local apartment complex were indicted by a Baldwin County grand jury this week.

Tamarus Dante Hartry and girlfriend Jessica Ann Driskill, the infant’s parents, face counts of murder, felony murder and concealing death of another.

Hartry and Driskill were arrested Friday, Oct. 18, 2013 in connection to the death.

Police responded Sept. 6 to 130 N. Lincoln St., Apt. 3E, Riverbend Apartments, in reference to a 2-month-old child deceased at the scene.

Local authorities ordered an autopsy due to “some suspicious things” noticed by investigators.

The medical examiner with the Georgia Bureau of Investigation crime lab identified the cause of death as force trauma to the head and ruled it a homicide.

Det. Scott Goodwin with Milledgeville Police Department handled the difficult circumstances.

“That’s a serious offense and something traumatic to deal with. Working that case has been challenging for (Goodwin) as well as other investigators that assisted,” Maj. Reginald Hill, chief investigator with MPD said last fall. “It’s horrifying to see an infant child laying there lifeless. When you see anyone like that, it’s difficult to deal with, but when you a small baby it makes it 10 times greater.”

Several agencies assisted in the investigation including the Division of Family and Children Services (DFCS), the Ocmulgee Judicial Circuit District Attorney’s Office and the GBI.
