MILLEDGEVILLE — The Baldwin County Sheriff’s Office investigating a Wednesday night shooting in the area of Railroad Street that injured a local man. According to Det. Dallas Parker, who is in charge of the investigation, a 47-year-old man was shot sometime before 8:45 p.m. Wednesday at his home.

“A patrol unit received a call that a man had been shot at a Railroad Street residence and they responded to it immediately,” said Parker.

When deputies arrived at the Railroad Street address, they found a man on the front porch with two gunshot wounds.

“One was located in his shoulder and the other went through his left biceps,” Parker said.

The victim was rushed to the Medical Center of Central Georgia in Macon for treatment of his injuries.

He remained in surgery.

Parker said he plans to speak with the victim once he is out of surgery for information as to who may have committed the crime and what happened.

Currently, he is in the process of setting up interviews with several witnesses at the location during the incident and the case is ongoing.
