Mobile Vet Center visits next week

MILLEDGEVILLE — The Georgia Department of Labor’s (GDOL) Milledgeville Career Center will host the Mobile Vet Center next week to assist local veterans with counseling and other needs.

The mobile unit will stop in Baldwin County from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Friday, Aug. 23.

The Mobile Vet Center is a 38-foot mobile counseling center for veterans. It is a service of the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) office in Macon.

The mobile counseling center will be in the parking lot at the career center, located at 156 Roberson Mill Road. It provides a wide range of counseling, outreach, and referral services to veterans and their families to help them make readjustments to civilian life.

The mobile center is staffed by Michael E. Catoe, a readjustment counseling technician at the Macon VA Center. Services include individual, group, marital and family, and bereavement counseling, along with assistance in applying for VA benefits and other services.

Staff members of the GDOL’s career center will be available to assist the veterans with resume-critiquing, employment counseling, and job referrals.
