MILLEDGEVILLE — Georgia College will present “A Conversation with James Clementi” at 5 p.m. Thursday in the Arts & Sciences auditorium. Clementi is the brother of the late Tyler Clementi, a former student at Rutgers University.
Tyler, who was gay, was the victim of serious cyberbullying. He was 18 years-old when he leapt off the George Washington Bridge to his death.
Tyler's family founded the Tyler Clementi Foundation to help combat bullying and promote safe and respectful environments for vulnerable LGBT (Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender) youth and their allies, a member of the foundation and activist for LGBT youth, and Tyler's brother, James Clementi has become an advocate for the awareness of bullying and suicide prevention.
His talk will be an on-stage interview and conversational lecture.
