ATLANTA — Barrett Lawson, 43, of Milledgeville is thrilled to win a prize from the Georgia Lottery worth $100,000. The lucky winner netted his top prize playing the instant game $100,000 Monte Carlo.

Excited, Lawson claimed his prize Tuesday at the Georgia Lottery District Office in Macon.

Quik Stop #0003, 2653 N. Columbia St. in Milledgeville, sold the winning ticket.

“I got the ticket, and I couldn’t believe what I saw,” he said. “I felt like I was led to the ticket.”

Lawson described the moment as emotional.

“The feeling is indescribable,” he said.

With two children, nine months and eight years old, the lucky winner intends to invest a portion of his winnings and plans to donate to a charity.
