Georgia College will host a town hall meeting Wednesday with Georgia U.S. Rep. Paul Collins Broun Jr. at 2 p.m. in the Arts and Sciences Auditorium.
The congressman will discuss issues related to the presidential election, the House of Representatives legislative objectives for the next term and particular issues raised by Georgia College students and audience members.
“The 2012 election is critically important relative to the economy and national security,” said Gregg Kaufman, instructor and American Democracy Project coordinator at Georgia College. “The campus community looks forward to a dialogue with Congressman Broun.”
The event is free and open to the public.
Broun served as a U.S. Marine. He became a Navy medical officer and continues to serve in that capacity with the Navy Reserves.
A member of the St. Mary’s Hospital Foundation Board, Broun also is a family physician who has served patients for nearly four decades.
He earned a bachelor’s degree in chemistry from the University of Georgia in Athens. He earned a Doctor of Medicine from the Medical College of Georgia in Augusta.
