Runaway teen comes back

Details still unclear

MILLEDGEVILLE —

The 16-year-old girl, missing since May 2, is back in Milledgeville.

The Milledgeville Police Department looked for Brandi Leigh Corbin until this weekend. Once in local custody, Maj. Reginald Hill of MPD said she wasn't willing to speak of her whereabouts over the last two weeks.

“We didn't get any information from her because she refused to talk with us in reference to who she was actually with, but she was taken into custody and is housed at the YDC pending a hearing,” Hill said.

Corbin was last seen May 2 walking from her residence located on Moore Street at approximately 8 p.m., according to police.

Corbin apparently has been speaking with a male subject, who identified himself as Jeff. Based on the police report, the male subject reportedly picked Corbin up, as she walked away from her residence.

Information received from family and friends pointed the investigation towards the Atlanta area.

During the course of investigation, MPD learned that Corbin might have planned to run away.

As of May 6, the family received two phone calls from Corbin since she went missing. Corbin's mother received a voice message, and the 16-year-old spoke with a Baldwin County Sheriff's office deputy but refused to tell her location.

Det. Anthony Henderson of MPD worked the missing child case.
