Tasteful Event to feature area eateries

GREENSBORO — It’s time for residents throughout the region to get their taste buds ready for a mouthwatering event featuring vendors from Milledgeville and other surrounding communities.

Volunteers and staff of the Greene County Chamber of Commerce have been busy cooking up plans and preparing a delectable spread of fun filled activities for this year’s seventh annual Tasteful Event. The event is slated for Sept. 9, and will be held at Parkside Commons in Lake Oconee Village.

“Last year we had a really good turnout and we’re expecting this year to be even better,” said Lindsay Sumner of the Greene County Chamber.

The Tasteful Event allows participating restaurants to showcase their menu items by offering samples of their best food selections.

“Restaurants usually provide one or two samples of a dish, just enough to get your taste buds hooked on what they have to offer. It’s a great way to not only get word out about their restaurants but the event also helps people try that new dish they’ve been thinking about trying without having to order a full meal,” Sumner said.

Although the taste buds will be pre-occupied with the excellent selection of food that is available during the event, other senses will have a chance to indulge in the festivities as well.

“It’s going to be a very fun-filled event with great food, a business expo, a silent auction, and live entertainment,” Sumner said.

The business expo will serve as a way to expose attendees to many of the services and businesses the area has to offer. Local business members, potential chamber members and organizations are encouraged to register for the Tasteful Event’s Expo as a way to market their business or service to all of those in attendance.

The Tasteful Event is not limited to the Lake Oconee area. Restaurants from surrounding areas are welcome to attend as well.
