Milledgeville Marketplace season in full swing

MILLEDGEVILLE — The Milledgeville Marketplace Farmers Market is in its third month of the season and going strong, with an average of 17 vendors and more than 400 customers weekly.

The market offers a wide variety of goodies ranging from fresh locally grown produce, to honey, to handcrafted jewelry, clothing, soap and a variety of other items. Even with the threat of rain during the last couple of markets the vendors and customers have braved the weather and continued to support the market.

Customers have taken to the new incentive program introduced at the market this year. Market-goers can pick up marketplace punch cards that can be used while shopping with the different vendors at the market. Once the punch card is full it can be turned in to the Main Street table to earn free Market Bucks and be entered into a monthly drawing for $25. The June winner was Maddy Cook.

Shop the market every Tuesday from 4 to 7 p.m. April through October. The market is located next the Golden Pantry at 222 E. Hancock St. in downtown Milledgeville. Vendor applications are available on the Milledgeville Marketplace Farmers’ Market Facebook page.

For any questions regarding the farmers’ market call the Milledgeville Main Street Office at 478-414-4014.
