MILLEDGEVILLE — Area families are invited to enjoy a day full of entertainment, activities and socializing during the sixth annual Fun Day for Kids event sponsored by Tracy Harper Productions (THP), Butler Ford Honda and Flipper Chapel AME Church.

“I’m just so thankful for everything God is doing with Fun Day. I didn’t think Fun Day was going to be this big every year,” Harper said. “God gets all the glory and I’m so grateful for my sponsors.”

The free-admission event is slated from noon to 5 p.m. Saturday at Walter B. William Park.

With funds and donations from more than 20 community sponsors, free hot-dogs, chips, cotton candy, snow cones, popcorn and drinks will be provided.

“This year we have even more giveaways than we did last year. We will also give away bicycles, mp3 player, laptop, tablets, dolls, gift baskets and a lot more,” Harper said. “We will have a DJ playing a mixture of music. We will have a fashion show, bounce houses, face painting, a waterslide and races for kids.”

High school seniors ready for college can bring their acceptance letter for a chance to win a $500 college scholarship. A car donated by Butler Ford Honda will also be given away to one lucky college student under the age of 23 who presents a valid driver’s license along with a transcript showing an A average. To be eligible to win both prizes, students must be present.

“Through the Make-A-Wish Foundation, we will give one disabled child a trip in Georgia to wherever they want to go as long as it is in a certain price range,” Harper said. “Mia Maddox Investing in America is giving away 100 bags of groceries to the first 100 people.”

THP Community Events, Inc. is a community-based nonprofit event service that aims to create revenue in support of youth development and educational opportunities.

“Last year’s event was awesome. We had over 1,000 people come,” Harper said. “I just want everybody to come together as one. This is the time that we need each other no matter color or race. We just need to get together as one and show the love.”
