First Friday showcased area arts, music talents

MILLEDGEVILLE — Local residents enjoyed some of the area's music and arts talents this week during the May installment of First Friday.

Friday evening featured lots of live entertainment including The Fall Line Ramblers, Craig Hendricks and Free Lance Ruckus. Ruckus and Hendricks performed at the Fall Line Farmers' Market in front of First Presbyterian Church as a complimentary part of First Friday.

Compassionate Crafts sold lyric/verse paintings and window paintings in front of the Baldwin Lofts, and the Mary Vinson Memorial Library hosted a used book sale at Digital Bridges.

The Oconee Regional Medical Center Kids' Corner featured a Mother's Day craft session. Also, Rhonda Johnson showed off her talent as a Hula Hooper.

At 7:30 p.m. there was a drawing for the Blake's Buddies Diamond Raffle. The winner got to choose between two diamonds - a 1-karat round diamond or a princess cut diamond. At $20 per ticket, J.C. Grant Company sold 677 tickets with all proceeds going to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation.

Blake Jones pulled the winning ticket Friday evening for the diamond valued at $7,000.
