The annual Boys & Girls Club of Baldwin and Jones Counties Golf Classic is set for Saturday, May 18. Proceeds from the annual fundraiser go to support the organization’s efforts to mold the minds of local youth.
Start time is 9 a.m. for the two-man, 18-hole scramble. The benefit will take place at the Little Fishing Creek Golf Course located on Highway 22 West.
The golf classic is one of several fundraising events by the Boys and Girls Club that typically brings in a large amount in donations and funds for the organization.
This year’s golf event is sponsored by Pickle Barrel Cafe.
The entry fee is $30 per person or $60 per team.
The entry fee includes green fees, cart, awards, prizes and snacks during the tournament.
Prizes include a $200 gift certificate to Pickle Barrel as first place prize, $100 as second place prize, and a $50 gift certificate for third place.
There will also be additional contests to participate in at the golf classic.
A $10 donation each is required to enter both contests.
Participation in the Boys & Girls Golf Classic helps the organization continue its programs for area children. The organization reaches around 250 young people in Baldwin County and around 100 in Jones County. Open weekdays afterschool and from noon to 6 p.m. during the summer, the Boys & Girls Clubs provide tutoring and recreational activities for local youth.
