Belk Charity Sale supports area nonprofits, schools

Participating organizations and schools in this season’s sale include the Animal Rescue Foundation, Baldwin County Fire Rescue, Boys & Girls Club of Baldwin and Jones counties, Rooms of Hope, Georgia’s Old Capital Museum, Century Bank Relay for Life team, Georgia Power Relay for Life team, Triumph Aerostructures Relay for Life team, Georgia College Early College, Eagle Ridge Elementary School, Wilkinson County Board of Education, Crossroads Pregnancy Center, L.O.V.E. for Haiti, Morris-Little American Legion Auxiliary, Crooked Creek Community Association, Serenity Hospice, Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, Delta Sigma Theta Nu Tau Chapter, Milledgeville Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta, Mothers Against Crime, Eatonton-Putnam Arts Foundation, United Way of Central Georgia, Georgia Association on Higher Education and Disability, Experience Works, Believers in Broadcasting, Vaughn Chapel Missionary Baptist Church, Freewill Fellowship Baptist, Calvary Baptist Church, Apostolic Faith Church, Sandersville First Church of the Nazarene, Amazing Grace Evangelical Ministries, Sacred Heart Catholic Church Warner Robins, This Child Christian Foundation and Wesley Chapel United Methodist Church.

The spring 2013 Belk Charity Sale raised more than $5 million for nearly 8,000 schools and community nonprofit organizations in Belk markets.

“Last year, our participating local charities sold over 4,000 tickets combined,” Dumas said. “This year with 34 charities involved, they are on their way to exceed that number.”
