Belk Charity Sale supports area nonprofits, schools

MILLEDGEVILLE — The Milledgeville Belk is providing customers a unique opportunity to support local nonprofit organizations and area schools by offering special discounts during a private, four-hour sale this weekend.

Belk’s annual Fall Charity Sale is slated from 6 to 10 a.m. Saturday. Charity Sale tickets are available from all participating organizations for $5, good at any Belk store. Tickets can also be purchased at Belk up to the day of the event with all donations equally divided among participating charities and schools.

“We look forward to this bi-annual event every year,” said Myra Dumas, store manager of the Milledgeville Belk store. “We hope to see our customers in the store this week and on Saturday morning to help support our community and to take advantage of the savings on the latest fashions of the season.”

Each ticket will admit shoppers to the store and entitle them to merchandise discounts ranging from 20 to 70 percent on purchases throughout the entire store, including special savings on rarely discounted brands. Customers will also receive a $5 credit on Charity Sale purchases.

The first 100 customers in every Belk store on the morning of the event will receive a free Belk gift card ranging in value from $5 to $100, and a chance to win one of three $1,000 Belk gift cards awarded company-wide. All participating charities and schools will also be entered into a drawing to win one of three $1,000 cash awards for their school or nonprofit organization.

“Our biannual Charity Sale is a win-win for Belk and the communities we serve,” said Belk Communications and Community Relations Vice President Jessica Graham via a press release. “The upcoming Charity Sale event on Nov. 9 is a great opportunity for our customers to get great bargains on our latest fall fashions and top brands, and at the same time benefit their favorite local charities. It’s one of many ways that Belk reinforces its long-standing commitment to community involvement and charitable giving.”
