MILLEDGEVILLE — During Make A Difference Day weekend, Georgia Military College cadets participated in community service projects at the Oconee River Greenway such as trash pickup and covering graffiti under the Highway 22 bridge.

Greenway Executive Director Dr. Heather Langston was happy GMC considered doing the work.

"It looks so much better," Langston said. "It's nice to have these students do this sort of thing for the community at large."

Celes Mason, GMC community service coordinator, organized the Saturday activities.

Make A Difference Day is the largest national day of community service sponsored by USA Weekend magazine and Points of Life.

GMC has made a point to participate in the program every year since 1995. They believe this program shows students ways to connect and assist differently within their community.
