After 8 p.m. Sunday night, officers from the Milledgeville Police Department responded to the 2200 block of Queens Court in reference to a possible stabbing.

The suspect, Cecil Curry, and the victim exchanged words leading to the altercation, according to MPD.

“At some point Curry pulled out an edged weapon and cut (the victim). We know that alcohol was consumed by both,” Maj. Reggie Hill of MPD said.

Upon arrival at the scene by officers, a large crowd had gathered in the yard of the residence. The victim was slumped over the trunk of a vehicle with a small cut across the left lower back area and on the back of his head.

Several witnesses at the scene identified Curry as the suspect. Curry had already left the scene prior to law enforcement's arrival. Detective Chris Quattrocchi responded to the scene and finished the investigation.

Curry later turned himself in to the police department. He is charged with aggravated assault.
