MILLEDGEVILLE — First Friday encourages you to save the date and come celebrate the beginning of November by giving thanks in downtown Milledgeville on Friday, Nov. 1 from 6 to 9 p.m.

The committee has invited all local charities and non-profits to contribute and participate in this local charity month First Friday.

Do not miss the kids’ activity corner hosted by the Oconee Regional Medical Center where they can make their very own turkey headdress. They will also receive glow sticks to shine as they adventure downtown.

Georgia College will be generously showing the movie, “The Angels’ Share”, a bitter sweet comedy, in the Arts & Science Auditorium from 7 to 10 p.m.

Main Street Milledgeville Director Carlee Schulte is ready to embrace the holiday season with the spirit of giving thanks.

“This month we hope to inform the community of the many charities that are doing great work in our area and encourage community members to explore all that downtown has to offer,” she said.

Among the variety of charities, the Students helping Students led by Georgia Colleges’ SGA philanthropy along with live entertainment performed by the popular Fall Line Ramblers.

Right outside the Lemon Tree on Wayne Street, the Chard Wray Food Pantry will be collecting canned goods for their latest food drive. Additional charities that will be in attendance include the Life Enrichment Center & Creative Expressions, L.O.V.E. For Haiti,  American Legion Post 6 and several others.
