MILLEDGEVILLE — IHOP of Milledgeville General Manager Max Bouzied and his staff serve more than 1,000 pancakes on average daily, but had a mission to reach the 2,000 mark Tuesday on National Pancake Day.

The local IHOP and its restaurants across the nation offered free short stacks of its famous buttermilk pancakes from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m. in an effort to raise awareness and funds to benefit the Children’s Miracle Network Hospital’s program at Children’s Hospital at the Medical Center of Central Georgia.

IHOP served four million free pancakes on National Pancake Day 2012 and pancake-lovers donated more than $3 million to children’s charities.
