MILLEDGEVILLE — The Milledgeville Fire Department’s ladder truck returned to the local city fire rescue inventory last week.
City firefighters tested the ladder and pumping action behind Tractor Supply Friday. The unit went down in June after a roadway accident.
MFD chief Tom Dietrich said it’s a big deal to have this truck available again. The 95-foot ladder unit can reach up to the highest building in the city.
"It can handle anything in Milledgeville," Dietrich said.
The MFD previously used the vehicle five times for major structure fire neutralization.
Dietrich said the vehicle "is for the public’s safety."
