Baldwin County Fire Rescue received a 6:37 a.m. call Wednesday about a fire on Harrisburg Road. According to fire chief Troy Reynolds, the two residents escaped with no injuries.

The fire began in the carport area based on early reports. One nearby citizen reported a loud explosion coming from the area.

Reynolds said it advanced quickly to the attic.

“It pretty much took the roof off of the house,” the chief said.

Firefighters extinguished the blaze within 30 minutes of arrival. The exact cause is yet to be determined.

“We haven't completed the investigation yet,” Reynolds said.
