Police looking for murder suspect

MILLEDGEVILLE — Friday night violence ended in the death of a 22-year-old.

The Milledgeville Police Department is looking for 21-year-old Quintavious Horton for the shooting that took the life of Kenneth Simmons.

“Horton is considered armed and extremely dangerous,” Maj. Reggie Hill of MPD said.

Witnesses described an altercation taking place outside the American Legion on 430 W. MLK Jr. Dr. before shots were fired. Simmons was shot once in the chest with a semi-automatic handgun.

Prior to MPD’s arrival, the victim had been transported to the Oconee Regional Medical Center, where he was later pronounced dead.

Police have an arrest warrant and are charging Horton with murder.
