State of Baldwin County is focus of Eggs & Issues

MILLEDGEVILLE — Baldwin County Commission Chair Sammy Hall and County Manager Ralph McMullen will present details on “The State of Baldwin County” Wednesday as part of the local Eggs & Issues series.

The next installment of the series will be 7:30 to 9 a.m. at Crockett’s Family Restaurant on North Columbia Street.

The series is presented by the Milledgeville-Baldwin County Chamber of Commerce.

The community is invited to hear and discuss county issues and ask questions on Wednesday. Other members of the board of commissioners will also be on hand for the presentation.

The session will also provide a forum to address the impact on the local business community and identify partnership opportunities.

Registration and breakfast begin at 7:30 a.m. followed by the 8 a.m. presentation. Tickets are $10 each or $75 per table of eight. Limited seating is available.

This installment of the Eggs & Issues series is sponsored by Central Georgia Technical College along with Advanced Disposal and Georgia Power. Eggs & Issues launched last fall, and presentations in the series are held every four to five weeks.

The presentation format is designed to allow business leaders, community leaders and elected officials to have an open forum discussing issues relating to Milledgeville and Baldwin County. Topics include legislative agenda, education, transportation and economic development.

The last session, held in February, featured a presentation by Dr. Jim Lidstone, Georgia College’s Center for Health and Social Issues director, who led a discussion on “The Weight of Baldwin County.” Other presenters have included Oconee Regional Medical Center CEO Jean Aycock and Milledgeville-Baldwin County Development Authority Executive Director Matt Poyner.

The next session topic will be “The State of the City of Milledgeville” on April 24. The final installment in this year’s series will feature state and federal legislators including state Rep. Rusty Kidd and state Sen. Burt Jones and will be held at the new CGTC health facility and conference center.
