This weekend’s Greenway Farmers Market will feature Georgia Olive Farms.
Jason Shaw at Georgia Olive Farms of Lakeland will offer Georgia Olive Farms Chef’s Blend Extra Virgin Olive Oil. A portion of the proceeds will go back into the farmers market. Also featured will be Gayla’s Grits, made from non-GMO corn and gluten free. Farmers will have samples of bread and veggies to taste with the olive oil.
Farmers from the middle Georgia area will be on site Saturday offering seasonal vegetables, meats and dairy products, including carrots, potatoes, mushrooms, pasture-raised beef, pork, lamb, goat, chicken, jams, jellies, yogurt, cheeses, milk, butter, eggs, artisan breads, scones and even some lettuce and baked goods.
Representatives from the Milledgeville-Baldwin County Chamber of Commerce will also be on site for a ribbon cutting ceremony at the market at 10 a.m.
The Farmers Market at the Greenway is held 9 a.m. to noon Saturdays at the Oconee River Greenway, located off Highway 22 at the River Bridge.
