Area schools are slated to reopen Wednesday after a day of school closing announcements resulting from severe cold weather on Monday.
John Milledge Academy, Baldwin County Schools and Sinclair Christian Academy will resume regular schedules Wednesday. All three school systems were closed Tuesday due to the below-freezing temperatures.
The second semester begins for Baldwin and JMA students Wednesday.
Temperatures will be slightly above Tuesday’s highs when students and teachers return. Wednesday’s forecast calls for mostly sunny skies with a high near 46 and calm 5 mph winds, a contrast to the wind chill and wind warnings for Baldwin County on Monday and Tuesday. There is a slight chance for freezing rain after 4 a.m. Wednesday and before 7 a.m. Thursday. Highs for Thursday will be near 48.
