Tidal Wave endures bitterly cold temps

MILLEDGEVILLE —

Waynesia Sherman tolerated the bone-chilling winds Monday as she continued to scrub customers’ car squeaky clean at Tidal Wave Auto Spa of Milledgeville.

"I got here at 7:30 a.m. [Monday] and it was very windy and cold," Sherman said Monday afternoon while bundled up in layers of clothing. "We have a heater outside to keep us warm so it’s not too bad. I’m glad I’m off [Tuesday] because it’s supposed to get even worse."

According to the National Weather Service, a wind chill advisory is still in effect until 1 p.m. Tuesday. Tuesday’s forecast is sunny with a high near 31 degrees. Wind chill values as low as -4. West wind 5 to 10 mph, with gusts as high as 15 mph. Tuesday night will be mostly clear, with a low around 13 degrees.
