MILLEDGEVILLE —

Georgia Bureau of Investigation Crime Scene Specialist Todd Crosby visited the Milledgeville Police Department Junior Police Explorer Academy Wednesday morning.

The MPD and the Explorer Post 139 conduct the academy. More than 20 students from 12 to 18 years old learned expert crime scene investigation tips.

Crosby took the campers through fingerprint 101. The youngsters learned what generates a print and that gloves don’t always cover a criminal’s tracks.

Crosby said ‘DNA is a thing of the future’ for law enforcement. Students also saw how magnetic fields are used to locate bones.
